What does the repair button in the Listener object do in the Failover Cluster Manager.

Hello.

We had an issue where one of our AG's failed over and failed to obtain the IP for the listener and the AG went into a "Resolving" state. Thus the databases were unavailable. The cluster then started to step through all the nodes in the cluster to try and bring the listeners IP online.

We tried to move the listener resource to the correct node but it continued to try other nodes.

We found the right clicking on Listener Name showing in the failover cluster manager under the AG role, and then clicking on “More Actions” and then clicking on Repair brought the listener online.

Does anyone know what this repair button does behind the scenes?
