I have this requirement to implement Availability group with automatic failover across data center. Our DC are about 500 miles apart in 2 different cities. Network latency is around 15 ms. I am thinking of implementing SQL 2017 multisubnet WSFC (Not FCI) with Availability groups running in Synchronous mode.
I am aware that general recommendation is to implement Synchronous mode (Automatic failover) within local DC and Async mode (Manual failover) accross DC. And I have implemented the same for my other applications. But, this one application has this specific requirement for Automatic failover across DC.
Just wanted to get the feeling from expert here in regard to running Synchronous AG across DC with a Network latency of around 15 ms. Anyone who implemented Synchronous AG across DC, I appreciate your feedback.
