Hi guys,
i have this question, we have bought an 8 core sql 2017 standard license to use as active-passive failover cluster. But now we are moving from hyper-v to vmware and i have a doubt to use failover cluster because with RDM disks i can't use replica and snapshots and i need to reconfigure the SAN. So my question is, can i create 2 distinct sql server with 4 cores each with basic availability group and create replica only for certain databases? my goal would be mix AG for important DB with log shipping for less important DB.
it's possible? first with our license can i install 2 server?
thanks
Andrea
