Hi i'm setting up a 2-node sql 2012 cluster (NO availability groups) but before i start i have some questions.
We want to use the SQL cluster for SharePoint 2013 so we are only installing the Database Engine for now
- I read on technet that we don't need MSDTC if we only use the Database Engine, but wouldnt it be nice to install MSDTC for if we in the future want to use SSIS (DB Engine + SSIS requires MSDTC) ?
- When we want to install MSDTC in cluster do we need to install the Incoming & Outgoing Remote Transactions feature under the Application Server Role ? (Add Application Server from Add Roles Wizard by selecting Incoming/Outgoing remote transactions)
- When we don't want to use MSDTC in cluster then we don't need to install Incoming & Outgoing Remote Transactions feature?
