Setup for disaster recovery scenario

Hello,

Our IT-manager asked me to setup an SQL-database that is High Available and ready for disaster recovery.
In order to perform this he asked to set everything on seperate disks. So the MDF on Disk M, the Log Files on Disk L and the Backup on disk N.
Is it a good idée to put the C and the M drive on storage in the first datacenter and the L and N drive on storage in the second datacenter? What happens if there is a disaster in the second datacenter and the log files are gone? Will the database continue to work? (I assume not)
Is there a better way to split the drives over the datacenters?

Kind regards,

Jochen
