What is the difference between separate Database mirroring concept and the mirroring that occurs inside Always on Availability groups ?

as microsoft saying that Database Mirroring will be removed in a future version of Microsoft SQL Server. Use AlwaysOn Availability Groups instead. so what are the advantages of Always on groups over normal Database mirroring concept.

And will it be available(Always on) in future version of sql server once mirroring will be removed.
