SQL Server 2014 Cluster fails with event id 1135 when one of our domain controllers is shutdown

Hi All,

We recently did a DR test whereby we took one of our domain controller offline leaving the other online. Not long after, our SQL Server cluster fails starting with Event Id 1135. The problem occurs on a cluster running windows server 2012 r2 standard with sql server 2014 rtm. It also happens on sql server 2014 SP1 on server 2012 r2 standard. Our sql 2008 r2 cluster on server 2008 r2 enterprise does not exhibit the problem when the DC is down. I have been reading about changing the subnet threshold values but before mucking around with that, I was interested to see if the community would confer or could this be something different. Cluster validation looks good and moving services to another node normally presents no problems. BTW, we did the DC offline test three times on different days and the problem occurs so it is not a coincidence. We have a private heartbeat network that is configured not to allow client traffic

Thanks in advance

  Chris
