Hi,
We have a database in Simple Recovery Model and it's size is growing. We would like to introduce differential backup to reduce the backup size and time. Our idea is to take one full backup on Sunday and take differential backup on other days.
Since we are in simple recovery model, we can not take transaction log backup. How does recovery work?
For example, we have a problem with Database on Thursday and we need to restore the database.
Can we use Sunday full backup and differential backup of Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday to bring the database up.(we will be lost thursday data, but we are affortable as this database is not critical)
Pls let me know your opinion.
